BAJA RIDE 2018 WITH BLACK RHINO PERFORMANCE

The last week of January 2018 the Dirt Warrior Crew packed up and left the red sand and rocks of Sunny Southern Utah to hit the Baja California Coast in Mexico, running from Ensenada to San Quintin and back to Ensenada staying a total of 4 nights wrapped up in Fun, Sun Friends, Margaritas, Tacos, Gas Stops, Minor Breakdowns, Racing Down the Beach, Local Food and Hospitality!  Needless to say we had a blast and look forward to next year!

It began Wed. morning when we left for San Diego where we were going to park our trailers with the machines at Black Rhino Performance for the night where we could meet up with them the next morning.  Being from Utah we may or may not have noticed that we were not supposed to travel in the 2 far left lanes OR go over 55 miles an hour pulling a trailer.  But this guy wasn't about to let us do as we please!  He pulled 3 trucks and trailers over at one time on the 5 in Cali!

But luckily he was cool and let us move along with a warning.  We made it to San Diego, dropped off our machines and agreed to meet up with everyone in the morning to cross the BORDER!

We made our way to the Gaslamp District (Such a COOL VIBE) where we  stayed at Hotel Z.

Cute little Pineapple place.

After we checked in, we decided it was time to get some grub and check out the local bars.  The lady at the front desk of our hotel suggested the Half Door Brewery around the corner and we didn't waste any time getting there!  We had delicious food, local Brew and many laughs.  This place was an old home converted into a brewery and restaurant.  We sat on the front patio where you could see the Baseball stadium from where we sat.

Then off bar hopping...We hit The Trailer Park After Dark

Thursday morning, shit got real!  We were all a little foggy from the night before, but we pulled ourselves together and met up with more of our group at Black Rhino Performance so we could caravan across the border.  Eric Ridens (Our leader from Black Rhino Performance) decided maybe crossing at Tecate would be a faster process for us so we all took off following him through some backroads wine country to get from San Diego to Tecate.

I'll admit it we were a little scared hauling our rig into Mexico, but we had our Insurance, our registrations and Sweet American Smiles so we were good to GO!  We drove another hour and a half down Highway 3 La Ruta del Vino through Mexico to get to Ensenada.  This area had many farms and vineyards where there were wineries and other things to see.  It would go from complete poverty close to the road and just past the fields of grapes were lavish Mexican Wineries and homes.  It was good to see the Mexican wineries were doing good and prospering.  We arrived at our resort, Estero Beach and Resort!!!

A private and gated resort that was beautiful, right on the BEACH!!!

It was so nice to get out of the truck and not have to drive anymore that day.  We got cleaned up and met at the restaurant for some local appetizers and drinks!  YUM! Corona's, Pacfico's, Dos Equis and Margaritas with some chips and salsa!  We then explored the beach, picked up sand dollars and sea shells and tested the WATER.
